How you love
Before I talk about you, one fact that puts everything else in order.
You were born with the Sun in Virgo. He was born with the Sun in Pisces, at almost the exact degree across from yours. Draw the zodiac as a circle and you sit facing each other, barely a degree and a half apart. Astrology calls that an opposition. And it is the spine of this reading.
Virgo and Pisces are the two ends of the same rope. Virgo separates and sorts, knows where one thing ends and the next begins. Pisces dissolves. For Pisces the edges are thin, and whatever the person beside them feels comes in as their own. Neither end is wrong. But they pull in opposite directions, and almost everything that happens between you two can be read along that rope.
Now you.
Your Sun is in the third decan of Virgo, the one ruled by Venus. Of the three Virgos it is the warmest. You put things in order so the other person is all right. You are the one who remembers Thursday’s doctor’s appointment, the one who already has the answer worked out while the other is still telling you the problem. Your love shows in what you do.
Your midheaven is in Virgo too. The midheaven is the part of the chart the world sees first. So caring too much is not something that started with him. You carried it long before you met.
Your Moon is in Scorpio. The Moon speaks of what you need to feel safe, and Scorpio needs the truth. It is not enough for things to look fine. When someone goes quiet, you feel they are holding something back, and you are almost always right. The hard part is that being right does not calm you.
And there is something else in your chart I want to say slowly, because it is the most delicate thing in this whole reading.
Your Venus is in Leo. Venus is how you love and how you let yourself be loved. Less than two degrees away, in the same sign, sits Saturn, the planet of effort and of what is earned over time.
When Venus and Saturn are born side by side, a person often learns very early that affection has to be deserved. That it is paid for by paying attention and never slipping. Probably nobody ever said it to you in those words. You learn it anyway.
That conjunction falls in your eighth house, the house of the intimacy you share with very few people. There, love is never a game for you. And Saturn also rules your Capricorn rising. The same planet sitting next to your Venus is the one that shapes how you stand in front of life. Like someone who takes charge.
Out of that comes something you may never have named this way.
Giving is the easiest thing in the world for you. Receiving costs you far more.
When someone does something for you, something in you gets uneasy. You want to return it quickly, or you play it down, or you are already working out what to do in exchange. Giving is where you feel safe, and receiving leaves you exposed.
I say this without a trace of reproach. It is what you learned so that people would love you, and it worked. It made you someone everyone leans on. I only ask you to keep it close when you read about him, because he carries his own version of the same thing.
What you give can be seen from far away. What you won’t let anyone give you, almost no one sees.
